Details of yet another land at Universal Epic Universe have now been announced! Joining How To Train Your Dragon - Isle of Berk in the line-up, SUPER NINTENDO WORLD will be bringing your favourite video games to life in a colourful and interactive multi-sensory environment.
The fun begins as soon as you enter the land’s portal, in the form of the iconic green pipe found in classic Super Mario games. When guests emerge into SUPER NINTENDO WORLD they’ll be surrounded by “vibrant scenery and exciting kinetic energy… greeted by the familiar sights and sounds and sounds that they’ve experienced on their Nintendo game consoles”.
If you’ve visited Universal Studios Hollywood, you’ll have an idea of what to expect, but the land in Universal Epic Universe will be even bigger, with a total of three attractions, including two that are entirely new to the U.S., meet and greets, and themed dining locations. Here’s what we know:
SUPER NINTENDO WORLD Attractions
Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge
The classic Mario Kart game comes to life in this interactive, augmented reality attraction, perfect for a bit of (not-so) friendly competition. Join Team Mario to battle Team Bowser as you make your way through the corridors of Bowser’s Castle, collecting coins, tossing shells, dodging obstacles and more. Will you win the Golden Cup?
Yoshi’s Adventure
This family friendly ride will give guests the best view over SUPER NINTENDO WORLD as they join Yoshi to travel throughout Mushroom Kingdom in search of glowing eggs, encountering many familiar characters along the way.
Mine-Cart Madness
At the edge of Super Mario Land there will be the lush and tropical landscape of Donkey Kong Country, home to waterfalls, The Golden Temple, and the first-of-its-kind family coaster Mine-Cart Madness.
Using an unprecedented ride system and innovative technology, guests will join Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong to protect the coveted golden banana, performing jaw-dropping manouvers, being blasted out of a barrel and seemingly jumping over gaps in the track!
SUPER NINTENDO WORLD Meet and Greets
As you make your way around Super Mario Land there will multiple opportunities to meet with characters from the Super Mario franchise, including Mario and Luigi, Princess Peach and Toad!
SUPER NINTENDO WORLD Dining
Toadstool Cafe
The Toads will be busy cooking up the most tasty dishes inspired by the world of Super Mario and its characters, perfect for appeasing the appetite you’ll have worked up from a competitive Mario Kart race!
Dishes will include Mario and Luigi-themed burgers, Super Mushroom Soup, Piranha Plant Caprese, Fire Flower Spaghetti and Meatballs, and more. You’ll even get to see a glimpse of the Toads in action through virtual windows around the restaurant.
Yoshi’s Snack Island and Turbo Boost Treats
There will be two walk-up dining locations in Super Mario Land serving up snacks, themed-beverages, and other tasty treats that can be eaten on the go as you head to your next attraction.
Donkey Kong Country
There will be a selection of tropical menu items available in the jungles of Donkey Kong Country, with more details set to be announced about this in the coming months. We’re sure there’s bound to be something banana themed on the menu!
Power-Up Bands
Want to level up your fun? Power-Up Bands will be available to purchase at merchandise locations throughout SUPER NINTENDO LAND that will take the interactive elements of the area to a whole new level.
Using one of these Power-Up Bands, guests will be able to collect digital coins by punching ? blocks and playing interactive games, collect digital stamps on attractions, earn digital keys to unlock exclusive interactions and access leaderboards to see how they rank among their fellow guests.
Now that definitely sounds epic to us! SUPER NINTENDO LAND will be opening at Universal Epic Universe in 2025, with more details, including the all-important opening date of the park, still to be announced.
If you’re visiting Universal Orlando Resort in 2024, make sure you check out the latest announcements about the summer of spectacular entertainment coming to the parks, including a new parade full of fan-favourite characters and two new nighttime spectaculars!
