New Guardians of the Galaxy Ride Opening at Disney’s Epcot
Get ready for a new mission!
A Guardians of the Galaxy attraction has been confirmed for Disney’s Epcot! Here’s all the exciting details…

Over the weekend at the D23 Expo, Disney chairman Bob Chapek made some huge announcements about new attractions coming to the Walt Disney World parks in the next few years and they all sound incredible! One of the brand new attractions confirmed for Disney’s Epcot park, will be inspired by one of our favourite superhero movies- Guardians of the Galaxy.

Theme park fans may already know that earlier this year an exciting new ride called Guardians of the Galaxy- Mission: BREAKOUT! opened at Disneyland California. Fans of the franchise were so keen to try out the new ride, that queues were up to 5 hours long on opening day! While you won’t have to queue as long to get on now, the ride has quickly become one of the park’s most popular attractions.

So, you can imagine we were thrilled to hear that the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando would be getting its very own attraction inspired by the superhero gang. Guardians of the Galaxy- Mission: BREAKOUT! will be located in Epcot’s Future World- an area originally intended to be the place where guests could experience the excitement of space travel. One thing’s for sure this new ride is going to be out of this world! Check out the video below of the ride at Disneyland California, for an idea of what you can expect...

Get ready to embark on an action-packed adventure as you’re immersed into the surreal world of the Guardians. The current attraction at Disneyland California lets you step inside an eerie fortress owned by the Collector (aka Taneleer Tivan). This is the place where he houses all of his collectibles including his latest acquisition- the Guardians of the Galaxy gang! He’s holding them captive in glass display cases suspended over a dark abyss and it’s your job to help save them. If you think you’re up for the challenge that is. Don’t worry, Rocket Raccoon will be there to give you a hand.

The terrifying ride has a surprise drop sequence that will have you screaming all the way through. Get ready to experience the ultimate freefall sensation while music from Star Lord’s boombox blasts through the speakers. Disney haven’t revealed too many details about what the Walt Disney World version of the ride will be like, but the fact that it has the same name, gives us a pretty good idea that they’re going to be very similar, which is great news for the thrill seekers out there!

If you look closely at the artist renderings of the new attraction, you’ll see Gamora, Groot and Rocket. We’ve got our fingers crossed that when the ride opens, we’ll be able to get up close to our favourite characters and snap a few selfies. Judging by the picture below it seems like Peter Quill has visited Epcot before too, so we’re sure he’ll be around somewhere.
