Calling all Star Wars fans… the news is finally in! Disney have just confirmed the opening date for their largest ever expansion. That’s right, their new Star Wars-inspired lands will officially open at Disneyland California in just two months’ time on 31st May and at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida on 29th August!
If you’re a Star Wars fan (who isn’t?!) this announcement is sure to put a smile on your face as the opening date is much earlier than was originally expected, as Disney first announced that Stars Wars: Galaxy’s Edge was expected to open in Florida in late autumn.

Due to high guest interest, Disney have decided to open Star Wars land earlier. On 29th August phase one of the opening will allow guests to take control of the iconic Millennium Falcon spacecraft on Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run. You'll also be able to sample unique food and drink from the galaxy and explore a collection of intriguing merchant shops.
Phase two will open later this year and will give you the chance to try the second Star Wars ride- Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. This will put you right in the middle of an exciting battle between the Resistance and the First Order.
