Learn about the unique history of Battery Park and important facts about the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island on a 30-minute guided walking tour with an experienced local guide. Located at the southern tip of Manhattan Island, Battery Park has a varied history and many classic monuments to explore.
Finish at Castle Clinton, built for the War of 1812 as a centerpiece of the revitalization efforts of the park. Your guide will then give you pre-orientation instructions for your visit to Liberty Island and Ellis Island before you board the ferry for Liberty Island. - Please note that the tour meeting time is 15 minutes prior to the start time. No refunds or re-bookings can be provided for late arrivals or no-shows after tour commencement or departure.
- Please note this tour does not include a visit to the Statue of Liberty's Crown or the Pedestal
- Due to local regulations, the Statue of Liberty Museum, Ellis Island, and the Ellis Island Immigration Museum may not be open on the date of your visit
- A mandatory airport grade security screening is conducted prior to boarding the ferry. This means no liquids, alcohol, weapons or large bags are allowed.
- Please note, the ferry does not operate during heavy rain or other adverse weather conditions; when this occurs, an alternative option is provided.
- Ferries depart every 20 minutes from Liberty Island to Ellis Island - and again returning to Battery Park
- Depending on the queues, and time of year, any tour departing from 1pm onwards may not make it to Ellis Island before it closes for the day,
- Government-issued ID is compulsory to enter Liberty Island.
- Gratuities to guides are appreciated but never obligatory.
- Comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
