Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Closing for Refurbishment
One of the most popular rides at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is set to close temporarily.

The ride, which closes for major refurbishment between April 4th and July 15th 2016, is one of the most popular attractions at the park, but after a number of years a certain number of elements need to be refreshed and updated. In its current format, the ride features two significant lifts and drops as well as spirals, helixes and even a bat-infested tunnel to keep riders on the edge of their seats! Much as we love it how it is, we’re hoping to see some noticeable improvements from the 4-month refurbishment period!

Don’t worry though, if you’re travelling within these dates and in search of a similar style rollercoaster, the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is another amazing family-friendly coaster that everyone will love. If you’re travelling after the 16th July you’ll get to see the revamped version of the ride.
