A wonderful introduction to the amazing city of Florence...
This full-day tour shows you all of the city's masterpieces including its rolling hills, spectacular cathedral and the world-famous Accademia and Uffizi Galleries.
Our guide to All Florence in One Day including the Academy and Uffizi Galleries.
The tour begins in the old city centre with a guided visit to the Accademia Gallery. You'll explore Michelangelo's art, including his famous "David" and other masterpieces like "I Prigioni," "San Matteo," and the "Palestrina Pietà." Michelangelo sculpted "David" from rough marble in just three years, creating an iconic Renaissance masterpiece.
Then you will proceed with a walking tour including an outdoor guided visit of San Lorenzo Church with its famous bronze doors and the Duomo complex.
The walk continues along lively Via Calzaiuoli in the heart of the city, where you can admire the imposing and singular Orsanmichele Church, a masterpiece of Florentine gothic art, decorated with shrines with statues of the patron saints of the powerful medieval trade guilds.
Next, visit the bustling Mercato della Paglia (Straw Market) and rub the "Porcellino" statue's nose for good luck. Continue to the picturesque Ponte Vecchio, Florence’s oldest bridge, famous for its jewellery shops. The tour ends at Piazza Signoria, a stunning square and political hub. Admire Ammannati's Fountain of Neptune, the sculptures at the Loggia dei Lanzi, and the towering Palazzo Vecchio with its iconic Arnolfo tower.
Enjoy a typical Florentine lunch in a restaurant located in the old town before continuing your day with a guided visit to the Uffizi Gallery, one of the most famous art galleries in the world. Here you can admire numerous works of art by Botticelli, Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Raffaello, Giotto, Cimabue, Masaccio and many others. Once the guided tour is over, it is possible to stay in the museum.
