Is one day enough for LEGOLAND Florida?
We’d recommend spending at least one day in LEGOLAND Florida. It’s usually enough time to see and do everything you want to. However, if you want to take your time, or ride some of the attractions more than once, then there’s enough to cover two days.
Have a think about what you want to experience while you’re in Florida – there’s so much to do and see here. Our two-week Orlando itinerary will help you plan.
If you do want to spend more time in the park, you can stay on-site at one of the LEGOLAND hotels.
What age is LEGOLAND Florida best for?
There are rides for a range of different ages at LEGOLAND Florida, and we think it’s best for younger children aged 2-12 (although adults and older children will still enjoy it!). There are rides that are suitable for children as young as two.
If your children haven’t experienced anything like this before, then it’s a great first theme park. The park is a manageable size, and wait times are usually short, especially if you visit at a quieter time.
The best LEGOLAND rides
From speeding roller coasters to interactive shooter rides, here are some of our favourite rides at the Florida LEGOLAND park.
1. The Great LEGO Race
A visit to LEGOLAND Florida wouldn’t be complete without a go on The Great LEGO Race. This exciting ride combines roller coaster thrills and impressive virtual reality technology to immerse riders into the colourful and exciting world of LEGO.
Get ready for a wacky race as you speed past quirky LEGO characters like pirates, wizards, surfers, and even pharaohs!
2. LEGO NINJAGO – The Ride
LEGO NINJAGO – The Ride invites you to “become the ninja!” Get ready to embark on an exciting adventure where you’ll have to defeat the LEGO villains by launching blazing fireballs, fireballs, shards of ice, and lightning bolts at them.
The amazing virtual reality ride technology puts the power in your hands, so once you learn the moves, you’ll be a pro ninja! Compete against your friends and family for the highest score to see who will be crowned the winner.
3. The Dragon
The Dragon is one of the most popular rides at LEGOLAND Florida, so be sure to give it a try. This is a great attraction for little ones who are looking for an introduction to the exciting world of roller coasters.
Brave The Dragon and prepare for an exhilarating race around the track with plenty of dips and dives along the way. We’d recommend riding this one early in the day when the queues are likely to be shorter.
4. Flying School
Flying School is a suspended roller coaster that sends you racing through the park. It’s one of the biggest coasters at LEGOLAND Florida, so if you’re looking for thrills, this is the ride for you.
You’ll feel like you really are flying as you sit with your legs suspended and speed around the track. You’ll climb five storeys before facing twists, turns, and drops on the way back down.
5. Mia’s Riding Adventure
If you’ve got any horse riders in your family, they’re going to love this one! Mia’s Riding Adventure is in the Heartlake City area of the park and is inspired by the LEGO Friends gang. Mia is hosting a riding camp and wants you to join her, so choose a horse and saddle up for a ride on this fun-filled coaster.
Mia’s Riding Adventure will send you spinning around and around and is definitely one that the big kids will enjoy too.
6. Driving School
Driving School is one of LEGOLAND’s most famous rides, and it’s one for those under the age of 13. Kids will watch a road safety video before taking the wheel of their very own electric car to drive around the LEGO city.
Along the way, they’ll see real-world driving hazards like traffic lights, roundabouts, LEGO police officers, and even a speed camera. Children will love the realistic driving experience and the independence of being in charge of their own car.
Our favourite thing about this ride is that after the ride, children get their very own driving license which you can buy as a souvenir to take home.
7. AQUAZONE Wave Racers
If it’s a hot day under the Floridian sun and you need cooling down, then head to AQUAZONE Wave Racers for a soaking! You’ll stand up in your racer as it travels around the pool on a set track, steering to avoid the water blasts – or into them if you’d prefer!
It’s not unheard of to get completely soaked on this ride (especially if you’re with a deviant driver!), so be sure to wear a poncho if you don’t want your clothes to get wet - and pop your valuables somewhere safe.
8. Safari Trek
Hop on board a zebra-striped off-road vehicle for a wonderous trip through the African plains. Keep your eyes peeled for LEGO animals, including crocodiles, giraffes, and elephants. Cars travel around the safari site on a track, but children can steer them (or at least pretend to!)
Marvel at the incredible LEGO models as you travel along on this epic adventure.
9. DUPLO Train
If you’re travelling with toddlers, they will love this train, inspired by LEGO’s younger sibling DUPLO. Children can ride on their own or with their parents and enjoy the passing countryside. The train goes through farms and campsites and passes fishing lakes on the way.
In fact, if you are travelling with little tots, the DUPLO Valley is an excellent area of the park to visit. You’ll find soft-play activities, a touchscreen for kids to practice writing letters and numbers, and a Baby Care Center with private changing and nursing stations, a microwave, a fridge, and rocking chairs.
10. The Grand Carousel
The Grand Carousel is situated right at the centre of Fun Town. This vintage-inspired ride is reminiscent of the traditional fairground carousel but with a fun twist. This carousel is a double-decker with two levels of LEGO horses to ride.
It moves quite slowly, so it is suitable for small children, and you can enjoy the views of the park as you travel around.
11. Coastersaurus
Let’s ramp up the thrill-o-meter again with Coastersaurus, a wooden roller coaster that travels around a prehistoric land filled with life-sized LEGO dinosaurs. With many drops and turns but no loops or modern twists, this is a great option for kids who haven’t been on many roller coasters before.
You’ll get a fantastic view of the impressive dinosaurs as you ride.
12. Kid Power Towers
The great thing about LEGOLAND Florida is that there’s an interactive element to a lot of the rides, and Kid Power Towers is no different. It’s a drop ride where you have to get to the top of the tower by yourself.
Using the pulley system, riders must pull to raise their seat to the top of the tower before letting themselves go into a freefall drop. Each seat has space for two riders, so it’s perfect for parents and children to ride together.
13. Battle of Bricksburg
This is the second water ride on our list, and we suggest riding them back to back so that you can get the soaking out of the way and dry off later! Help defend Bricksburg from the evil DUPLO alien invaders and their brick-stealing ways by spraying them with water cannons.
If you’re walking past this ride, you can get in on the action too. There are water cannons outside of the ride that guests can use to spray and help the riders to save the day.
14. Lost Kingdom Adventure
Climb aboard a desert off-road vehicle and grab your laser gun on this epic adventure ride. The ride is based on the LEGO character Johnny Thunder, and you’ll battle LEGO mummies and skeletons inside ancient tombs to rescue him and find the hidden treasure.
You can gain points by accurately shooting the targets as you travel through the ride. When you get a hit, the surroundings just might surprise you! Keep track of your score and crown the family winner at the end of the day.
15. Merlin’s Challenge
Another mini-coaster for our list. Merlin’s Challenge is a mysterious wooden train ride powered by the legendary wizard’s magic. The train travels up and down over the tracks in a loop, providing an exciting ride for smaller thrill-seekers.
16. The LEGO MOVIE Masters of Flight
We’ve saved the best until last on this list, as The LEGO MOVIE Masters of Flight is without a doubt one of the most enjoyable rides in the park. You’ll sit on Emmet’s Triple Decker Flying Couch (just like the one in the film!) as you set off on an action-packed adventure.
There’s a full-dome virtual screen surrounding you, and your legs are suspended, completely immersing you in the story and making you feel like you’re flying through the air. You’ll also get other sensory elements like scents, adding to the feeling that you’re really in the adventure. LEGO MOVIE fans will recognise the characters and the settings, and even if you haven’t seen it, you’ll love the experience.
