Disney’s brand new Toy Story Land is now officially open, and fans will be thrilled to hear that it was well worth the wait! Once you've got your Disney park tickets, you can jump straight into the action and experience a one-of-a-kind world that's entirely inspired by Toy Story.
The 11-acre expansion is designed to look like Andy’s backyard and make you feel shrunk down to the size of one of his toys, as everything around you is supersized! If you’re a big Toy Story fan you’re going to want to start planning your Walt Disney World holiday right now.
The opening of Toy Story Land took place on 30th June 2018 and finally gave fans a closer look at the amazing theming, exciting new attractions and tasty food. Check out the pictures below to see for yourself…
As you walk up to the entrance of Toy Story Land, you’ll be greeted by a 20-foot-tall figure of of Toy Story's Woody. Make sure you’ve got your camera at the ready as this is a great photo opportunity.
The green army men were out in full force for the opening day celebrations. They’ll also be making several appearances in the park throughout the day, so make sure you look out for them and their fun drum march.
Woody, Buzz and Jessie will also be out meeting guests every single day. You’ll get the chance to meet your childhood heroes and snap a selfie or two with your favourite Toy Story character!
There are three exciting attractions in Toy Story Land- two new and one old favourite. A visit wouldn’t be complete until you’ve tried all three. Slinky Dog Dash is a family-friendly coaster that takes you on a wild ride on the back of Slinky Dog. This is a really fun ride that will have you laughing all the way round the track.
Alien Swirling Saucers is a brand new Toy Story ride that sends you speeding through the galaxy. You’ll swirl through outer space trying to evade the clutches of the Claw!
Toy Story Mania is one of the park’s most popular rides and it is now part of Toy Story Land. If you haven’t tried this, make sure you put it at the top of your list. It’s great for families and groups who want to have a bit of friendly competition!
If you want to try some delicious Toy Story-themed snacks, head to Woody’s Lunch Box. This counter service restaurant is designed to look like an open lunch box. It has a great menu with lots to choose from. There's sandwiches, desserts and traditional soda floats too.
If you didn’t already know, Mini Babybel is the official snack cheese of Walt Disney World, so at Woody’s Lunch Box, you can expect lots of cheesy snacks. This grilled three-cheese sandwich is made with melted provolone, cheddar cheese and cream cheese, served on garlic-buttered, artisan French bread.
If you’ve got a sweet tooth, you’ll love these Lunch Box Tarts. There’s two tasty flavours to choose from. One is stuffed with raspberry marmalade and covered with strawberry fondant and dried strawberry pieces, while the other has a chocolate hazelnut filling and is topped with chocolate pearls and candied bacon!
When you want to cool down from the heat, this refreshing Mystic Portal Punch is the perfect choice. This is made with Powerade Mountain Berry Blast, with sweet flavours of lemon-lime and tangerine. You can also choose to get a Toy Story souvenir cup with your drink.
It’s definitely worth visiting Toy Story Land at night, as there’s a totally different atmosphere. The land is transformed and illuminated with hundreds of lights. Don’t miss it!
