The new hotel will be renamed Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel and will transport guests to the ‘action-packed, inspiring world of Super-Heroes including Iron Man, The Avengers and Spiderman’.
A Marvel-themed test corridor has already opened at the hotel, although no fixed date has yet been given for the full refurbishment to take place. Rumours indicate it is not expected to happen until late 2018 or early 2019 though.
This new hotel update is in line with murmurings that more Marvel attractions will be coming to the Disneyland Park over the course of the next few years. This reflects recent updates from Walt Disney World, where they announced that a brand-new Guardians of the Galaxy ride would be coming to Epcot, much to the excitement of fans of the unlikely band of heroes. This was after, of course, the Tower of Terror attraction at Disneyland California was given a Guardians makeover and transformed into Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!
Although there are no rumours that hint that the same attractions might be opening at Disneyland Paris, there are suggestions that the backlot area of the Walt Disney Studios Park will be transformed to include more rides from our Marvel Heroes: Guardians of the Galaxy, Spider Man and the Avengers. The recent closure of CinéMagique seems to be the perfect opportunity to make way for the rumoured indoor Marvel super heroes-themed stunt show…so watch this space for more announcements as we’re confident something will be happening very soon!
