Visit the majestic Palace of the Medici family in the heart of the city of Florence!

Our guide to Florence Palazzo Vecchio: Museum Ticket and Audioguide

Located in the heart of the city, this magnificent building has served as the town hall for centuries and now functions as a museum showcasing the rich history and art of Florence.

Built during the Middle-Ages, it still preserves the austere architecture of the fourteenth century, with its crenellated top and the imposing Arnolfo’s Tower. The indoor parts of the building, beautifully renovated in the '500 when the Palace became the house of Medici, are instead typically Renaissance and hold priceless treasures and works of art. In the sumptuous halls and the private apartments of the family, worked the greatest artists of the period. Visiting the palace means to stroll among the wonders of Renaissance and retrace its history, discovering also the secrets and tales linked to the powerful Medici family.

The elegant courtyard by Michelozzo, welcomes you at the beginning of a visit that will enable you to admire the famous and beautiful “Hall of the 500”, the charming and intimate study of Francesco I de’ Medici, the beautiful private apartments of Eleonora of Toledo and Cosimo I de’ Medici and the sumptuous and stunning boardrooms, in an incredible series of frescoes, paintings, decorations and statues of the greatest Renaissance artists as Michelangelo, Donatello, Verrocchio, Vasari, Ghirlandaio and Bronzino, just to mention some of them.
