Sand surfing and camel riding has got to be one of the first things you think about when you’re planning your Arabian adventure. Nothing can beat the thrill of sand surfing down the incredible golden dunes in the desert outside of Dubai – you’ll be itching to climb back up and go again, even with that heavy board! These dunes are the largest in the Arabian Desert, which make them perfect for this new adventure sport. When you’re all surfed out, you can make your way to a hidden Bedouin campsite where you’ll pick up your next mode of desert transport – a camel, of course – and enjoy stunning views of the Arabian Desert as you plod through the alien landscape. You can enjoy all of this and more on a 3-hour private tour in a luxury air conditioned jeep from just £28.50 per person.
This is something you probably didn’t think you’d be hearing in an article about adventure tours in Dubai, but you can even enjoy SKIING in Dubai’s indoor ski dome! It’s one of the largest man-made ski domes in the world, with a 400m slope and over 6000 tons of snow. Our absolute favourite thing about Ski Dubai is the chance to meet a colony of penguins in the VIP Peng-Friend encounter – who’d have thought you could do that in the middle of the Arabian Desert?
If you’d prefer to fly high over Dubai, there are plenty of options for taking to the skies. From helicopter rides, to hot air balloons, to sea planes, you’ll be spoilt for choice when you’re trying to decide. Seeing Dubai from above is a great way to get your bearings and really understand the scale of this fabulous city, which boasts the world’s tallest building among its accolades. If you choose to travel by sea plane or helicopter, you’ll even get to circle over head of this insane feat of engineering, as well as enjoying bird eye views of the epic World and Palm Island projects. The hot air balloon ride will give you a different perspective of Dubai with a 60-minute flight over the gorgeous Arabian Desert at sunrise.
Want to combine a bit of adventure with cooling off? You should check out one of Dubai’s famous water parks – Aquaventure at Atlantis the Palm and Wild Wadi Water Park are two of the best water parks in the world! Scream your way down the exhilarating Ziggurat at Aquaventure or tear down the gravity-defying Jemeriah Sceirah at Wild Wadi - the tallest and fastest freefall water slide outside of the US! Whicvhever you choose, theres a great mix of high-octane thrills and family-friendly attractions to keep everyone happy for the day (and firmly off those sun loungers!).
