Are you daring enough to take the plunge down one of these terrifying slides?
Orlando is home to some of the top water parks in the world! From Universal Volcano Bay to Aquatica, there is no shortage of intense water slides ready to get your adrenaline pumping.

We previously created an article stating the Top 10 Thrill Rides in Orlando however we recognise not everyone is a big fan of coasters. Therefore, we have curated a bucket list for adrenaline junkies who prefer water slides!

Without further ado, here are some of the scariest water rides in Orlando you should try if you love to live life in the fast lane!

1. Summit Plummet, Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park

I think it is obvious which Orlando water slide would steal our top place! None other than Summit Plummet located in Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park! This slide provides the ultimate adrenaline boost that even some of the bravest guests refuse to face! Face a near vertical drop on one of the worlds tallest, fastest freefall body slides which shoots you speeds of up to 60 miles per hour!

Height requirement - 48 in (122 cm) or taller

2. Honu of the Honu ika Moana, Universal Volcano Bay

Four people facing each other on a large yellow rubber ring flying up a light blue water slide wall which is huge. In the background, there is a volcano statue with slides coming off of it and water.

Prepare yourself for a wild ride if you’re heading on Honu. The distinctive blue slide is known for its rather chaotic course in comparison to ika Moana, the green slide beside it. What makes this ride uniquely scary, is that it is a multi-person slide. Hop onto the five-passenger raft and descend down the flume at top speeds as you climb two massive walls!

Height requirement - 48 in (122 cm) or taller

Maximum weight - 300 lb (317 kg) combined

3. Humunga Kowabunga, Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park

This fantastic slide is definitely not for the faint of heart! Freefall down the 5 story’s tall Mount Mayday at a 60 degree angle reaching speeds of over 30 miles per hour! And if that isn’t scary enough for the adrenaline junkies out there, it is completely in the dark. It gives us chills just to think about it.

Height requirement - 48 in (122 cm) or taller

4. Kala & Tai Nui Serpentine Body Slides, Universal Volcano Bay

Is anything scarier than standing in a clear glass tube on a trap door which can give way any second? We don’t think so. Climb atop the iconic volcano in Universal Volcano Bay to find two of the scariest slides in Orlando. This ride drops you unsuspectingly at any time whilst onlookers watch your reaction to the terrifying drop. Kala & Tai Nui then send the two gusts down intense intertwining tubes before dropping them off in the pools down below.

Height requirement - 48 in (122 cm) or taller

Maximum weight - 300 lb (317 kg) combined

5. Ihu's Breakaway Falls, Aquatica

Ihu’s Breakaway Falls takes the number 1 spot as Aquatica’s scariest water slide. Stand on the trap door to experience the steepest multi-drop tower of its kind in Orlando! If you love the feeling of free falling, this is the ride for you. Face your fears whilst facing the other rider and expect the unexpected, as you never know who is going to breakaway first!

Height requirement - 48 in (122cm) or taller

Maximum weight - 300 lb

6. Ko'okiri Body Plunge, Universal Volcano Bay

Does falling down a 125 foot near vertical drop at approximately 60 miles per hour sound appealing to you? Not to mention, to zoom down this nerve-wracking slide, you must first climb to the top of the 200 foot tall Krakatau Volcano at the heart of Volcano Bay. This slide was bound to appear on our thrill seekers guide to Orlando water parks due to its 70 degree drop through a drop door which then leads into 125 feet of twists and turns.

Height requirement - 48 in (122cm) or taller

Maximum weight - 300 lb

7. Live Streaming, Island H2O Water Park

Live Streaming is another slide which guarantees to get your adrenaline pumping. Situated in Island H2O Water Park, this slide offers a memorable experience, dropping you down through the trapdoor, onto the 326 foot long slide. What makes this slide truly unique is that it includes a video recording so you can relive the rush! Unfortunately this ride is temporarily closed due to maintenance taking place however we assure you it will be back soon better than ever!

Height requirement - 48 in (122cm) or taller

8. KareKare Curl, Aquatica

Two men sat on two seater lime green rubber ring on a blue slide with lime green and orange stripes. They are heading up a large curled up wall.

Another entry from Aquatica which is part of SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment. The KareKare Curl is a multi-person slide, shooting rafts of up to 5 people down its course. Measuring 361 feet long, with a deceptively compact size off ride, it is easy to downplay the intensity of this ride. Climb up to 35 feet on the KareKare Curl wall and experience the true feeling of weightlessness. This is a ride we recommend nobody misses out on!

Height requirement - 48 in (122cm) or taller
