Embark on an unforgettable adventure as you are whisked away from your hotel to witness a breathtaking hot air balloon flight. Start your morning with a mesmerising balloon inflation display, setting the perfect tone for the day ahead.
As you ascend into the sky, gently float over the stunning Atherton Tablelands, taking in the lush rainforest-clad mountains and serene countryside vistas. Keep your eyes peeled for local wildlife, adding an extra touch of wonder to your journey.
After your scenic flight, join in on light-hearted balloon pack-up games, adding a fun twist to your experience. Finally, around 9:30 AM, board the coach for a comfortable return transfer, concluding your enchanting hot air balloon adventure.
Itinerary (subject to change):
- Pre-dawn Pickup: Enjoy a pickup at your Port Douglas accommodation by an air-conditioned coach for a one-hour transfer to the launch site. Pickup times will be confirmed upon booking.
- 6:30 AM: Experience the unique sensation of a hot air balloon ride over the Atherton Tablelands. Enjoy the picturesque landscape as the day begins, breathing in the wide-open spaces. With Australia's largest fleet of balloons and a fun, highly-trained crew, you’re in for a morning filled with joy!
- 7:50 AM: Your hot air balloon flight will be more than just an aerial adventure. Upon landing, celebrate with an array of locally-sourced refreshments, including fresh fruits, energizing muesli bars, scrumptious muffins, and a delectable variety of savoury pastries and quiche. Pair these treats with carefully selected sparkling wine or refreshing orange juice while sharing experiences with fellow adventurers, the pilot, and the support crew. Please note that offerings may vary to ensure you enjoy the best of local produce.
- 9:00 - 9:30 AM: The tour finish time varies with the seasons (summer, winter, and sunrise times).

Approximately one hour before sunrise (Around 5.00am). This tour picks up from centrally located Port Douglas accommodation.

Terms and conditions for Classic Hot Air Balloon Flight from Port Douglas
- All pick-up and drop-off times are approximate and seasonal and will be confirmed upon booking.
- Children 0 to 2 years inclusive are not eligible to fly.
- For children aged 3 years and over - adult rates apply.
- Proof of age is required for children aged 3 to 5 years inclusive.
- All times are an INDICATION only. Please note that times do change in summer/winter/spring, exact start times are given on receipt of your full booking details.
- Pick-up times are confirmed when you re-confirm with the tour operator locally.
- Wear casual outdoor layered clothing suitable for a bush environment (white clothing is not recommended). Enclosed footwear is compulsory.
- In the event of inclement weather, the flight will be cancelled but can be rebooked for another day. If unable to travel on an alternative day, a full refund applies.
- Meals, ballooning souvenirs and in-flight photographs are not included.
- It is a Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) and company requirement that Passengers flying with the Operator must be able to climb INTO the basket unaided.
- Pregnant persons beyond 3 months (13 weeks) of pregnancy are not permitted to fly.
*Cancellation Policy:
Free cancellations and amendments are allowed for bookings cancelled with the tour operator up to 72 hours before your chosen activity date. Please keep in mind that there is a significant time difference between Australia and the UK, so be sure to allow for this when making your cancellation. After the 72-hour window, no amendments or refunds will be provided.
