This city is located in the UAE, which is roughly a 7 hour flight from the UK. While this might seem like a long journey for a short visit, its location offers a unique advantage. Abu Dhabi is just a 1 hour and 34 minutes drive from the vibrant city of Dubai. This makes it easy to spend a few days experiencing Dubai’s glitz and glamour before heading southwest along the UAE coast to explore the rich cultural heritage and traditional charm of Abu Dhabi.

4. Hot Hot Hot!

There are six camels laying down in the Arabian desert's sand. They have saddles on them and a woollen patterned mat for comfort. Each of them are tied to another camel.

One of the best things about Abu Dhabi is its incredible weather, with sunshine all year around and a “never-ending summer” feel. During the winter months, the city enjoys temperatures similar to the UK’s summer, making it an ideal escape from the chilly British weather.

However, it’s important to note that Abu Dhabi can experience severe heat, specifically from June to September, when temperatures soar to highs of 42°C and lows of 28°C.
