When can I visit Buckingham Palace?

This exciting tour is only available for a limited time each year. This summer it is open to the public from Monday 15th July 2024 until Sunday 29th September 2024.

What is included in a Buckingham Palace tour?

Access into Buckingham Palace, an audio guide explaining the different rooms and the decor within and access to the palace gardens. Within the gardens there are photo opportunities, a cafe and a small play area for little ones.

There are 19 exquisitely furnished State Rooms to explore boasting fine examples of French and English antique furniture, including works by Rubens, Canaletto and Rembrandt, sculpture by Canova and porcelain by Sèvres. You’ll also behold priceless paintings and portraits of past and present monarchs.

Wander through The Throne Room where many historical events have taken place; today it holds a multitude of uses from public events to personal occasions. The Ballroom is the largest of the State Rooms, completed in 1855 during Queen Victoria's reign, the Ballroom is used for official purposes like State Banquets.

The back of Buckingham Palace, a large beige building which backs onto large green grass patch and trees. There is also a white tent with cafe in.

You will also get to visit the stunning gardens. The gardens of Buckingham Palace are a true sight to behold and are home to 30 different species of bird and over 350 different wild flowers. Your tour will end with a stroll past the south side of the garden, where you get fantastic views of the palace and the idyllic lake.

Small, circular Victoria sponge cake served on paper plate. It is two vanilla cake slices with cream and jam in the middle. On top there is cream, a raspberry and a circular piece of chocolate with golden image of crown on it.

As mentioned previously, in the gardens there is a cafe which offers a selection of delicious food and beverages for you to enjoy, including some stunning cakes!

Can I take photos and videos in Buckingham Palace?

Unfortunately there is a strict no photos or videos policy as you explore the interior of Buckingham Palace, however once the tour is over and you exit into the palace gardens, you are free to take photos and videos.
