Our 5 Favourite Behind the Scenes Theme Park Tours!
Experience even more fun at your favourite theme parks!
We asked around the office for the team's favourite behind the scenes tours and this is what we came up with...

1) VIP tour of Seaworld Orlando

The ATD team were lucky enough to experience the SeaWorld VIP tour first hand when they visited earlier this year, taking away plenty of happy memories and a real sense of the conservation efforts SeaWorld is making to protect the coastline! Experienced tour guides take you to places other guests can’t to see the rescue centres and rehabilitation rooms, as well as feeding the dolphins and learning how the trainers care for them and teach them fun tricks. Other highlights include a chance to feed the stingrays and even to meet and interact with a small shark!

2) Serengeti Safari Tour at Busch Gardens

Ever wondered how long a giraffe’s tongue really is? Well you can find out on the Serengeti Safari Tour at Busch Gardens Tampa as you hand feed these leggy Safari beauties. Along the way, enjoy plenty of photo opportunities as you cruise along in an open topped jeep with a knowledgeable tour guide who can tell you everything you need to know about these fascinating animals and their antelope playmates! Here are some of the ATD team taking a giraffe selfie...no shame!

3) LEGOLAND Florida VIP Experience

This is the stuff LEGO fans’ dreams are made of! An exclusive tour of the park which includes private access to the secret Model Shop and Model Builders who work there. Go behind the scenes to see how all your favourite rides and attractions were constructed, as well as receiving priority access in the lines when you want to ride them! Guests also receive a LEGOLAND Florida goodie bag to take away with them, as well as a souvenir photograph to remember the day.

4) VIP tour of Universal Studios Hollywood

This is definitely one for the film fan in your life! Gain exclusive behind the scenes access to iconic film sets from the last twenty years from the comfort of your air-conditioned private VIP trolley. Experienced tour guides will stop the trolley and allow you to explore the sets from films such as The War of the Worlds on foot, with plenty of opportunities for photos of course! Our team loved exploring Wisteria Lane, home of Desperate Housewives and the Universal Studios working prop department. When the tour is over, VIP guests enjoy a fantastic free lunch at one of the parks best restaurants and front of the line access to all the park’s fabulous rides.

5) SeaVenture at Discovery Cove

OK so we cheated on this one as it’s not strictly a behind the scenes tour but we just love it, so we had to include it! Discovery Cove is often the highlight of our customers’ Orlando holiday so it’s already a firm family favourite, but by doing the SeaVenture experience, guests can explore an extra underwater area of the park that isn’t open to all visitors! With the help of a glass dive helmet, visitors can get up close and personal with the fish and rays of the Grand Reef, as well as admiring the sharks from behind some (very secure!) panoramic windows!
