Disney’s Newport Bay Club is my favourite Disney hotel. I have stayed here 3 times over the years. It is a nice stroll to the parks around the lake. Disney Village® is right on your doorstep and straight past my favourite pitstop on the way to the parks - Starbucks. I do prefer to walk and find it just as easy as the free shuttle bus. You exit the hotel at the back to walk to the parks and walk down some very impressive stairs.
Newport Bay Club is one of the larger hotels, the grandeur and just overall look are what drew me to stay here originally and have drawn me back ever since. 3 visits and I still haven’t explored the grounds the hotel has to offer. The theming of the rooms is nau-tastic. See what I did there. From the nautical headboards, hidden Mickeys and carpeted floors - especially in the winter months. The beds are also extremely comfortable.
On every visit, we like to make the most of our time in the parks and we use the luggage storage on check-in and check-out days, staff are friendly and the free service is very easy to use.
One of the biggest benefits in my eyes is the swimming pool and the breakfast but I will come to that later. I like to get to the parks early to make use of the Extra Magic Time and smaller crowds. I also like to break my day up and head back to the hotel to chill around the pool for an hour or two with my book before heading back to the parks for the evening. Did I mention the cocktails or wine yet? You can even collect towels from the pool area which are large and soft.
Food - let me start with breakfast. We had a Half-Board Meal Plan on our last visit to Disneyland® Paris and the breakfast was to die for! There were options such as pastries, muffins, cereal, fruit, bacon and Mickey waffles. My husband likes a fried egg, so we asked, and we got! Just ask the chef behind the buffet. There is also unlimited coffee and juice. You just can't beat a good buffet, especially at breakfast. We have only eaten a meal at Disney’s Newport Bay Club once as there are just so many places to choose from at Disneyland® Paris. We ate at the Yacht Club as it was included in our Half-Board Meal Plan and the Chicken with Lemon was so good. I must admit I did change the vegetables to Fries. Well, I was on holiday!
The walk back to the hotel on an evening after the fireworks, around the lake, just adds to the Disney magic. The hotel was all lit up and just looked wow. A great photo spot is in front of the lighthouse with the hotel in the background. A great place to sit on an evening with a glass of wine is around the lake, just people watching and resting those poor feet under the seating canopy.
On one memorable visit we were walking past the Captains Quarters back to our room and they had live music. Word of warning don't stand outside clapping and dancing, you do get pulled in! Great night, great staff and great music. They also make a lovely Pina Colada.
Remember to try and meet Mickey and Minnie in the hotel lobby, they are all dressed up in their sailing clothing. They look just adorable.
