Our guide to ATV Black Beach Safari and Plane Wreck
Your adventure begins at the base near Mýrdalsjökull glacier, where you’ll meet your ATV guide. After gearing up and receiving a brief safety orientation, you’ll set off to explore Iceland’s iconic black sand beaches.
Led by your guide, you’ll ride to the stunning coastline, taking in breathtaking views of the area. Marvel at the sight of Dyrhólaey, a dramatic peninsula marking the southernmost point of Iceland, and admire the majestic Mýrdalsjökull glacier in the distance.
Leaving the beach behind, you’ll journey on a fun and easy drive across rivers, on black sand beaches, to the renowned Sólheimasandur plane wreck, a relic from 1973 now resting in the sands. From there, you’ll drive to the Jökulsá River and ascend the foothills of the nearby mountain. This action-packed tour concludes upon your return to the base.
