5 Great Ways to Use Volcano Bay’s TapuTapu
Universal’s new high-tech wristband
The revolutionary TapuTapu wearable has been created especially for Universal’s Volcano Bay! Check out its amazing features…

In just a few days’ time, on the 25th May, Universal’s Volcano Bay water them park will officially open to the public! The 28-acre tropical oasis will be totally unique and unlike anything you’ve experienced before.

A few months back, Universal gave a preview of what their colourful TapuTapu wearable would look like. They revealed the exciting news, that the revolutionary wristband would banish long ride queues for good! Something that’s sure to delight every theme park fanatic. That’s not all though, the high-tech device has lots more handy features that will help to make your visit hassle free, and Universal have finally spilled the details! Here are the top 5 ways you can use TapuTapu…

1. Virtual Line

Universal's Volcano Bay Orlando

As we mentioned, one of the things we’re most excited about for Volcano Bay, is that there will be no queuing! That’s right, thanks to the TapuTapu wearable, you’ll be able to virtually wait in line instead with just a simple tap of your wristband. This gives you the chance to explore the rest of the amazing attractions throughout the park until it’s your turn to ride. You’ll be alerted when your wait is over, giving you enough time to make your way back. Sound’s good, right? This fantastic feature will be available for all of the park’s exhilarating water slides, including the star attraction- the Krakatau Aqua Coaster, that goes right through the heart of the 200-foot-tall Krakatau volcano!

2. TapTu Pay

When visiting a water park, it’s not practical to carry your money around with you, unless you want it to get soggy that is! No one likes having to keep going back and forth to lockers every time they want a drink or something to eat either. Well, at Volcano Bay you’ll be able to go cash free with the TapuTapu wearable. The device features TapTu Pay, which lets you pay for food, drinks, merchandise and souvenirs throughout the park, with just a tap. You can link the wristband to a credit card by using the free Universal Orlando Resort app, and then you’re good to go. You’ll also benefit from useful features on the app, such as interactive maps, alerts and live wait times for the attractions.

3. Locker Access

If you’re visiting a water park, renting a locker is a great way to make sure your belongings stay safe. The only problem is, when you’re walking around in swimwear without a bag, it’s a challenge in itself to keep the locker key safe! At Volcano Bay, you won’t have to worry about it, as there are no locker keys at all. Instead, you’ll use your TapuTapu wristband to open and close your locker, by tapping the band on a sensor. Nice and easy!

4. TapTu Play

The TapuTapu wearable is a powerful device that can trigger impressive special effects throughout the park. Kids (and big kids!) will love discovering the interactive effects they can create with just a simple tap. Look out for the colourful TapTu Play symbols that show where you can activate the effects. Shooting water cannons at unsuspecting guests and revealing hidden messages in the magical Cave of Starlight are just a few of the exciting surprises in store.

5. TapTu Snap

Universal's Volcano Bay Orlando

Taking photos at a theme park is a great way to remember your fun day out, but if you’re visiting a water park this is much harder to do. No one wants to risk getting their expensive camera or mobile phone wet, so you often don’t get the chance to take any photos at all. That’s why Volcano Bay have introduced TapTu Snap on the TapuTapu wearable. There are plenty of interactive photo opportunities and selfie-spots set up around the park, including on some of the park’s most popular rides!

If you download the free Universal Orlando Resort app, you can create an account, so that your TapuTapu wearable will automatically link all of your photos. You can then view, share and purchase them using the app.
