How to get to Disneyland Paris by Eurostar

Getting to your Disneyland Paris holiday by Eurostar is simple and easy. You’ll spend around three hours on a high-speed train and change platforms at Lille station.

Here’s what your journey will look like:

  1. Arrive at London St Pancras International station in plenty of time for security checks before boarding the Eurostar train. Find your seat and get comfortable.
  2. When you arrive at Lille, you’ll need to change platforms and catch a French high-speed TGV train to Marne-la-Vallée-Chessy station. Your ticket covers this change, so there’s no need to worry.
  3. Get off the train at Marne-la-Vallée-Chessy station, directly opposite the Disneyland Paris gates. It’s then up to you whether you head straight for the magic of the parks or check into your hotel room first.

What are the benefits of taking the Eurostar to Disneyland Paris?

There are lots of advantages to taking the Eurostar to Disneyland Paris over other forms of transport. Here, we’ve narrowed it down to just 8 of our favourite reasons to take this magical train journey.

  1. No weight limits on your luggage

We’ve all been there. Not wanting to look as you haul your suitcase onto the scales at the airport check-in because you’re convinced it’s well above the weight allowance. Well, when you travel with Eurostar, there are no weight restrictions to worry about! That means you can stuff in as many pairs of Minnie ears as possible and come back with as much new merchandise as you can carry.

[Name] has been to Disneyland Paris [X] times and always travels by Eurostar because there are no weight limits on luggage. She says, “I have two young children, and so we need to bring a lot with us when we travel. The fact there aren’t any weight limits on your luggage with Eurostar really helps us as we can bring all the extra changes of clothing, toys, and everything else we need for a great family holiday!”

The only restrictions are on the size of your suitcase, which can be up to 85cm long. You can also bring a buggy or pushchair in addition to your bags. They just need to be folded and stored in the overhead luggage racks or in one of the racks located throughout the carriage.

The amount of luggage you can bring varies depending on the ticket you’ve booked:

  1. Fewer restrictions on liquids

Fitting all your liquids in tiny bottles into a small plastic bag can be another cause of stress when travelling by plane, especially if you have small children requiring drinks, baby food, formula, and medicine for emergencies.

On the Eurostar, there are no restrictions on the number of liquids you can bring with you or the size of their containers. This means you can also save a bit of money by bringing your own reusable water bottles for park days.

There are however some restrictions in place for the amount of alcohol you can have on board, but you’ll still be able to bring back a bottle (or two!) of French wine from that shopping trip to Val d’Europe!

  1. Fewer queues before you board

While there’s no guarantee that the queues at the Eurostar will be any shorter than those at the airport, we do know that there will be fewer of them! Unlike flying, you take all your luggage on board with you on the Eurostar and since you can print your own tickets or have them saved on your phone, there’s no need to check in beforehand - so you and your party can go straight through to security.

All border control is done at your departure station as well, so when you arrive in Disneyland Paris, you can get straight off the train and head right into the magic without having to wait at passport control or baggage claim.

  1. Save on expensive transfers or taxis

There’s no need to fork out for expensive transfers or taxis from the train station unlike when you arrive at a destination airport. All Disneyland Paris trains take you directly to Marne-la-Vallée-Chessy, just steps away from the park gates themselves.

If you’re staying at one of the Disneyland Paris hotels*, you can either walk to your destination in less than 20 minutes or hop on one of the complimentary shuttle buses which will take you right to your hotel’s door. Easy peasy!

  1. Enjoy the Disney Express luggage service

Forget lugging your bags from the station to your hotel and back again. For the ultimate in convenience, guests travelling on the Eurostar who are staying at a Disney Hotel* can book the Disney Express luggage service for an additional fee.

This service is ideal if your train arrives before your hotel check-in time, as it allows you to drop off your luggage and pick up your check-in documents – including your park tickets – as soon as you arrive.

That means you can head straight to the parks for a few hours of fun before heading to your hotel later to check in, safe in the knowledge that your luggage will be there waiting for you. On the way home, your luggage will be transported to the station so you can spend your remaining time enjoying your last Disney moments in the parks.

  1. You can amend your booking as many times as you like

Flexibility is one of the most important aspects of booking a holiday. After all, life happens and you can’t plan for every eventuality. Eurostar bookings are much more flexible than airline bookings tend to be.

Although they are non-refundable, you can amend the date and time of your Eurostar journey as many times as needed, although you will need to pay any difference in the cost of the fare.

  1. Eurostar is a sustainable form of travel

If you’re looking to minimise your impact on the planet, then you might be looking to try more sustainable forms of travel. Travelling by Eurostar can be a more sustainable alternative to air travel.

On average, the carbon footprint of travelling by a Eurostar train is 95% less than flying. Not only this, but Eurostar’s goal is to get to using 100% renewable energy by 2030, and they’re trialling new technology in the hope of reducing energy usage by at least 5% on every journey (source: Eurostar.)

  1. You can book Eurostar tickets alongside your hotel and park tickets

Booking every aspect of your holiday with one provider can help to make things easier for you, and anything that makes that to-do list shorter is a win in our book.
