Here is our guide to the exciting new additions to Disneyland Resort in California coming in 2025 to celebrate this huge milestone!

70 years ago, on July 17th 1955, Walt Disney unveiled his groundbreaking vision to the world with the opening of Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California. Since then, it has captivated millions of visitors from across the globe, bringing Disney magic to life like never before.

Kicking off on May 16th 2025, and running through summer 2026 with a ‘Celebrate Happy’ theme, Disney will celebrate 70 magical years with limited-time entertainment, vibrant decor, themed food, collectable merchandise, the new ‘Celebrate Happy’ song and so much more!

Disneyland Park

Park makeover

Step into a world of enchantment as Sleeping Beauty Castle shines brighter than ever with stunning new details and magical touches. Brilliant, colourful decor will surround a giant medallion centrepiece. But the magic doesn’t stop there! Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and their famous pals will be dressed to impress in custom-made costumes, ready to greet guests in Town Square at Disneyland Park.

Mickey and Friends ‘Celebrate Happy’ cavalcade

Get ready for Disneyland Park to come alive with a vibrant dancing celebration! This brand-new character cavalcade, “Mickey and Friends Celebrate Happy”, will make its way along the parade route, filling the air with energy and excitement. Beloved characters will invite you to dance and clap along in a lively, modern tribute to seven decades of Disney magic!

Paint the Night returns

There’s nothing more magical than a parade after dark! The fan favourite Paint the Night parade is making its grand return to Disneyland Park, illuminating Main Street, U.S.A. with a dazzling display of LED colours, all brought to life by Tinker Bell’s pixie dust. Mickey’s imagination takes centre stage, featuring beloved characters from Disney and Pixar classics such as Cars, Toy Story, The Little Mermaid, and more! Get ready to dance along with incredible performers and marvel at the breathtaking floats in this unforgettable nighttime spectacle!

Wondrous Journeys returns

As night falls, Disneyland Resort will transform into a breathtaking canvas full of the Walt Disney Animation Studios’ artistry, with the return of the beloved nighttime spectacular Wondrous Journeys. This awe-inspiring show celebrates the legacy of Walt Disney’s classic stories. Guests are taken on a journey through music, storytelling and projections, featuring unforgettable moments from hit films like Hercules, The Princess and the Frog, Peter Pan, Frozen, Big Hero 6, and many more!

On select nights, the magic reaches new heights as fireworks light up the sky, enhancing the experience even further. Guests can enjoy this stunning spectacle from multiple spots in the park, including Main Street, U.S.A, Sleeping Beauty Castle, “it’s a small world” and the Rivers of America.

Disney California Adventure Park

World of Color Happiness! debut

The all-new World of Color show draws inspiration from Walt Disney’s iconic opening day dedication “To all who come to this happy place… welcome!”. This nighttime spectacular will not disappoint, taking guests on a journey through happiness, guided by Joy from Inside Out. As emotions come to life, they are reflected in music and unforgettable clips from the most popular movies created by Disney and Pixar, including Turning Red, Tangled, The Lion King, and many more!

Head to Paradise Bay to enjoy this memorable show, which features dazzling fountains, vibrant lighting, colourful lasers, fog, and dramatic effects. This breathtaking display paints musical memories throughout the park, leaving audiences mesmerised.

Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration!

Don’t miss the return of this thrilling parade, which will be filling the streets of Disney California Adventure Park again for a limited time, starting in summer 2025! Get ready to be amazed by spectacular, one-of-a-kind floats featuring beloved characters from Pixar Animation Studios films. Look out for fan-favourites like Red Panda Mei and her friends from Turning Red as they groove to their favourite boy band 4*Town. You’ll also spot Luca, Alberto and Guilia from Luca enjoying their adventures in Portorosso. It’s a colourful celebration of friendship, music, and unforgettable stories brought to life right before your eyes!
