Three hundred years ago, aristocratic and noble young men from Europe embarked on a journey through Italy, seeking art, culture, and the roots of Western civilization—this was the Grand Tour. Today, you can follow in their footsteps and discover the best of Tuscany with this exclusive tour. This full-day experience will immerse you in the diverse landscapes, ancient towns, artistic masterpieces, and rich traditions of food and wine that define this stunning region.
Your journey begins with a comfortable ride in a luxury Mercedes minibus equipped with A/C, allowing you to relax as you traverse the breathtaking Tuscan countryside. The rolling Chianti hills, dotted with cypress trees, vineyards, olive groves, and ancient hilltop villages, will provide a feast for your eyes as you travel from one destination to the next.
The adventure kicks off in Siena, a city that once rivaled Florence in power, wealth, and artistic achievements. Upon arrival, you'll enjoy a guided walking tour led by an expert tour leader, who will introduce you to the city's rich history and culture. Explore the famous Piazza del Campo, where the annual Palio horse race takes place, and wander through the quieter, charming backstreets as you learn about the Contrade, the 17 medieval districts that fiercely compete in the Palio. And don't miss a surprise tasting of Siena's renowned gastronomic delights.
Next, the journey takes you to San Gimignano, celebrated for its "medieval skyscrapers" and timeless atmosphere. With its towering houses, narrow streets, and perfectly preserved hilltop setting, San Gimignano offers an iconic glimpse of a Tuscan hilltown. After enjoying a typical Tuscan lunch, you'll have free time to explore this enchanting town at your own pace.
Finally, you'll head to Pisa, where you'll have the opportunity to explore the stunning Piazza dei Miracoli (Miracle Square). This grand space is home to the awe-inspiring cathedral, baptistry, and, of course, the world-famous Leaning Tower. While tickets to climb the tower are not included, you may purchase them on-site if time permits.
