Our guide to Manatees Swim, Snorkel and Boat Day Tour from Orlando
Hop aboard a Gray Line Orlando tour vehicle and head to Citrus County, home to the famous Crystal River – the only place in the world where you can legally swim and snorkel with wild manatees! Get ready for an unforgettable day of adventure, nature, and up-close encounters with these gentle giants.
After a quick briefing from your professional tour guide and a safety presentation at the dive shop, you'll be all set for your boat ride. Your Coast Guard Certified Boat Captain will navigate the serene waters of Crystal River, keeping an eye out for manatees. Whether you dive in for a snorkelling adventure in the crystal-clear water or prefer to relax and take in the scenic beauty from the boat, this experience is truly magical.
Manatees, also known as sea cows, are incredibly friendly. If you're lucky, these curious creatures might come up to greet you or even roll over for a gentle tickle! Remember, while you can't approach them, manatees often come to you – a moment you'll cherish forever.
Once back on land, you'll have a chance to change at the dive shop before heading to the Ellie Schiller Homosassa Wildlife State Park. Here, you can enjoy a delicious packed picnic lunch and explore one of Florida’s best-kept secrets. This 210-acre park is a sanctuary for many of Florida’s endangered animals, including the state panther and black bears. Don’t miss the ‘Nature's Fish Bowl,’ an underwater viewing chamber where you can watch rehabilitating manatees up close.
As the day winds down, head back to Orlando, arriving around 5 pm. This tour offers a true taste of Florida adventure and showcases the unique beauty of this region. Don’t miss out on this one-of-a-kind experience!

There is a population of around 80 Manatees that live in the Crystal River year-round with numbers swelling to around 300 in the winter months.
