Looking for something different and unique to do during your trip to Las Vegas? Check out our list of alternative things to do in the City of Sin.

From slot machines to helicopter rides, Las Vegas is known as one of the most visited cities in the world. But what else can you do besides hit the casinos and clubs? Attractions in Las Vegas vary from the weird to the wonderful and entice all sorts of revellers to its multicoloured strip. But do not worry! We have created a bucket list of alternative places for you to visit so you can get the most out of your trip to Vegas.

STRAT Hotel, Casino & Skypod

Our first recommendation comes from blogger Victoria from Lylia Rose who suggests visiting the STRAT Hotel, Casino & Skypod. “Go for a meal in the rotating restaurant ‘Top of the World’. It rotates 360 degrees and is at the top of the hotel, so you get amazing views of the Las Vegas strip, especially if you book a table after dark. You’ll occasionally see people fall past the window as they bungee jump from the hotel roof on the SkyJump ride!”

This sounds completely exhilarating if not a little terrifying!

If history is your thing, then our next location will be right up your street. Located in the Luxor Hotel & Casino, Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition, is a 25,000 sq. ft exhibition that showcases many of Titanic’s artefacts including luggage, whistles and unopened bottles of 20th-century vintage champagne. It also features a part of the hull as well as a full-scale recreation of the infamous grand staircase. This exhibition tells the tragic story of RMS Titanic and how it came to be one of the world’s most famous shipwrecks.

A haunting bucket list entry that highlights some of the unique locations that Las Vegas has to offer. With reconstructed first-class and third-class rooms that guests can walkthrough, the experience is both poignant and enchanting as visitors can see how segregated the classes were with furnishing from the original manufacturers being displayed. It is one experience that you cannot miss.

If you want to see the sights, what better way to do that than in a hot air balloon? This aerial view of Las Vegas can be an extraordinary way to see Vegas in all its glory.

We spoke to Tatum Skipper, founder of Bon Voyage Babes. She recommends trying this attraction at sunrise. “Most people think of Las Vegas as being a partier’s paradise, and while it definitely is that, there are some amazing sights to see (other than the inside of a casino).

“There is just something about the desert at sunrise that makes the whole experience unique and completely different than all the other adventures within the city.”

The Haunted Museum

Another great suggestion is Zak Bagans’ The Haunted Museum by blogger Louise from Formidable Joy. A bucket list entry that is a little different to most, but if you’re one that enjoys year-round scares, you’ll love this one. Louise suggests: “If you're looking for something a bit different, look no further than Zak Bagans' The Haunted Museum. A museum filled with all things ghost-related and spooky, this curious building will surely satisfy your dark side.

“It boasts various artefacts on display, from possessed dolls to demonic rocking chairs. The weirdest part? All visitors must sign waivers before entering, agreeing to the possibility of spiritual or paranormal interactions, possession or even death. It's definitely worth the risk - just don't touch anything you shouldn't!”

Zumanity by Cirque du Soleil

A crowd favourite is always a Cirque du Soleil show. They offer mind-boggling entertainment and intoxicating scenes that make your toes curl as they perform. Zumanity showcases some of the best Canadian theatrics with its “provocative cabaret-style production” and jaw-dropping tricks. With a plethora of comedy, dancing, acrobatics and exotic scenes, Zumanity has been raved about by thousands. As one of their more adult shows, you must be 18 years of age or over to attend, for obvious reasons, but it is worth the trip to Las Vegas alone just for this show.

Hotel hopping

And lastly, if these suggestions weren’t enough to fill your heart to content, Tatum also recommends a different way to stay in Las Vegas. She asks: “What other city do you know that packs that much punch within a 4-mile span?” So instead of staying in one place why not hotel hop and get the most out of Las Vegas’ reputation for going all out?

“Every single hotel has a different theme, vibe, and list of attractions to visit - a lot of them being free! If you’ve lost all your money playing blackjack, don’t worry! You can check out things like:

  • The iconic fountains at Bellagio, then head inside for their epic Botanical Garden display
  • Take pictures of flamingos at the habitat located in Flamingo Las Vegas
  • View the Eiffel Tower at Paris Las Vegas
  • Act like you are in the heart of Italy at The Venetian (gondola ride inside!)
  • Visit the Fine Art Collection inside Aria Resort.
  • Walk around the promenade at The LINQ Hotel”

With so many unusual experiences to be discovered in Las Vegas, the hardest thing is choosing where to start first. Have no fear, with our great prices on Vegas attractions, you can enjoy your holiday at a great price. There’s always a second visit on the horizon once you uncover Las Vegas.
