BREAKING NEWS!
Step into the world of Universal Monsters when Epic Universe opens at Universal Orlando Resort in 2025

Another month means another announcement about one of the lands coming to Universal Epic Universe! We’ve already found out all the details about How to Train Your Dragon - Isle of Berk and SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, and now it’s the turn of Dark Universe!

This mysterious land will blend the iconic stories of classic monsters from Universal Pictures’ films, including Dracula, The Wolf Man, Frankenstein’s Monster and the Bride of Frankenstein. As soon as guests step through the entrance portal, they’ll be transported to the ravaged village of Darkmoor, where a dark energy pulsates through the ground and up to the towering focal point that is Frankenstein Manor.

Here’s a look at all the chilling and thrilling attractions, entertainment, and dining experiences awaiting guests in Dark Universe:

Dark Universe Attractions

Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment

Said to be “Universal Orlando’s most terrifying attraction yet”, this dark ride will take you to the catacombs of Frankenstein Manor, where Dr Victoria Frankenstein (the great-great-granddaughter of Henry Frankenstein) conducts her twisted experiments. When her attempt to control some of the most dangerous monsters imaginable goes awry, you’ll ride through the darkness trying to evade the likes of The Wolf Man, The Mummy, The Creature from the Black Lagoon, and the Brides of Dracula.

Curse of the Werewolf

This will be a family spinning coaster inspired by The Wolf Man. Guests will enter the encampment of The Guild of Mystics and board a wagon before racing to escape the werewolves before they become one themselves.

Dark Universe Entertainment Experiences

Darkmoor Monster Makeup Experience

Here guests of all ages will have the opportunity to become “fashionably monstrous” with elaborate face paint and temporary tattoos in a parlour converted from Dr Pretorius’ old lab.

Meet the Monsters

Keep an eye out for monsters lurking in the shadows of Dark Universe, as everyone from Frankenstein’s Monsters and the Bride of Frankenstein to the Invisible Man will be roaming the village of Darkmoor ready to meet and greet with guests.

Dark Universe Dining

Das Stakehaus

This ominous restaurant will be run by vampire familiars who size up unsuspecting patrons to be part of the vampires’ feasts. But if you manage to escape their clutches you can feast yourself on kebabs, burgers, sandwiches and more!

The Burning Blade Tavern

Below the smouldering, flaming blades of this mill, Darkmoor’s monster hunters have created their favourite hangout. While you tuck into burgers, wings, pretzels and speciality beverages you will hear stories of the boastful hunters beyond Darkmoor surrounded by the monster heads they consider their trophies.

De Lacey’s Cottage

At the foot of Frankenstein Manor will be the food stand where the original Frankenstein’s Monster once received sustenance. The menu may be slightly different now than it was back then however, with guests able to choose from cinnamon bread, ice creams, twisted tators and more.

There really is no better word to describe all of this other than EPIC! There’s now just one land left to be fully revealed, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Ministry of Magic, so stay tuned for that announcement too!

And if, like us, you can’t wait until 2025 to visit Universal Orlando Resort, you can currently get a sneak peek at the new park and its lands, including themed merchandise, at the Universal Epic Universe Preview Center in Universal CityWalk.
