DON’T FORGET! If you have the Disney Dining Plan, it’s highly recommended that you make a reservation for the table-service restaurants you want to experience. As you’ll be staying at a Disney Resort hotel, you can begin making your dining reservations up to 60 days before check-in (for up to 10 days at once)! To make a reservation, you need to create a new account or log into an existing one on My Disney Experience. For further information, read our guide on How to Make Dining Reservations for Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.

Special Table-Service Experiences included in the Disney Dining Plan

Character Dining
This is one of our favourite ways to meet Characters throughout the Disney Theme Parks and Disney Resort hotels, from Mickey Mouse and his pals to the Disney Princesses. Many Character Dining meals use just one table-service meal entitlement per person, such as Tusker House Restaurant, Garden Grill Restaurant, and The Crystal Palace. However, some Character Dining uses two table-service meal entitlements per person, such as Cinderella’s Royal Table.

Fine/Signature Dining
If you’re visiting for a special occasion, you could use two table-service per person to dine at one of the Resort’s signature restaurants, such as the Yachtsman Steakhouse, Tiffins Restaurant, or Citricos.

Signature restaurants have a dress code of ‘Resort Casual’. This means no tank tops, swimsuits or cover-ups, hats, cut-offs, torn clothing, or clothing with offensive language or graphics.

Dinner Shows
Another great way to make your holiday dining a bit more special is with a dinner show, such as the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue. For two table-service meal entitlements per person, you can watch live entertainment while eating delicious food brought right to your table.

Dining Packages
Want guaranteed seating for Fantasmic! or one of the EPCOT Festival concerts? You can use your Disney Dining Plan to book a dining package including a table-service meal or buffet and VIP seating in a reserved viewing area. The number of table-service meal entitlements used for your dining package will depend on the restaurant you choose.

How do I use my dining plan at Walt Disney World Resort?

Using your dining plan during your Disney holiday couldn't be easier! Once you’ve linked your hotel and ticket package to My Disney Experience, the details of your plan will appear in your account, so you’ll know exactly how many meal entitlements you have during your stay. To redeem your dining plan, simply:

  • Scan your Disney band or hotel key card when asked for a form of payment
  • Specify the number of meals or snacks you would like to redeem (you could use your dining plan for some and pay out of pocket for others if you wish)
  • Check your receipt or the My Disney Experience app to keep track of the number of meals and snacks remaining on your plan

EXPERT TIP! Don’t forget that for most table-service and buffet meals you’ll need cash to tip your server, as this is not included in the dining plan entitlements (except for select dinner shows and speciality meals)

The number of meals and snacks you’ll get on your dining plan will depend on the length of your holiday, as it is based on the number of nights of your stay. However, your entitlements are valid for your entire holiday up until midnight on your checkout date, so you can eat light one day then roll them over to splurge at a signature restaurant or speciality Character dining experience the next!

Special dietary requirements

Even if you have special dietary requirements, the Walt Disney World dining plans are still the best way to eat and drink your way around the theme parks and beyond! Whether you’re vegan/vegetarian or have an intolerance to anything from gluten to nuts, the incredible Disney chefs will ensure there is something for you to enjoy.

If you’re dining at a table service or buffet restaurant, make sure to include your specific requirements in your booking. At any restaurant, we’d also recommend speaking to a chef or manager when you first arrive.

Frequently Asked Questions

General Information

  • Can you mobile order food using the dining plan?

Yes, you can use your dining plan while mobile ordering food at Walt Disney World Resort! Using the My Disney Experience app, choose your dining location, pick what you want to order, then at checkout select the dining plan as your payment method. You can only use one payment method per order so everything in your order will come out of your dining plan entitlements.

  • What ID is needed to order alcoholic drinks?

Guests aged 21 and over from any country other than the USA will need to provide their passport, or their driving licence and a photo of their passport.

  • How long does the dining plan last?

Your dining plan will last for the full duration of your Disney Resort hotel stay. You will be able to spend your entitlements from the time you check in until midnight on the day you check out, at which point you will lose any unused snacks or meals.

  • Can you use two quick-service entitlements for a table-service meal?

Quick-service meals cannot be combined to pay for a table-service meal. If you are on the Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan and would like to treat yourself with a table-service meal, you will need to pay for this out of pocket.

  • Can you use a quick-service entitlement to buy multiple snacks?

You can no longer split your quick-service meal entitlements to purchase multiple snacks in one transaction, so make sure you plan to use all of your quick-service meals throughout your holiday!

  • Is a Disney dining plan worth it?

We’d always recommend adding a dining plan to your Walt Disney World hotel and ticket package! Not only is it worth it for the peace of mind of knowing that your food has already been paid for, but if you make the most of all your meals, snacks and drinks you could save some serious money compared to paying for everything out of pocket.

  • Can you get a Disney dining plan if you’re not staying at a Disney Resort hotel?

The Disney dining plans are exclusive for guests staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel

  • Is Character dining included in the Disney Dining Plan?

Yes! There are multiple Character dining locations throughout the Disney Parks and Disney Resort hotels that are included in the Disney Dining Plan. These count as a table-service meal, with a couple worth two table-service entitlements.

  • Do you need to make dining reservations if you have a Disney dining plan?

Dining reservations are highly recommended for any table-service or buffet meals, even if you have a dining plan. We’d recommend checking if the specific restaurants you want to book are included in your dining plan before making a reservation, as these can be subject to change.

^Dining plan locations are confirmed for 2025 holidays. The locations included in the 2026 dining plans are yet to be confirmed and could be subject to change

*Valid theme park admission also required
