Launching this Autumn at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, Disney Genie is the brand new way to plan your best Disney day. This new digital tool, which will be integrated into the existing My Disney Experience app, will allow guests to maximise their time in the parks, creating tailor-made itineraries and giving information on attraction wait times, entertainment and more. And the best part is, Disney Genie is included in the price of your Disney Tickets, to help you make the most of your trip!
So how does it work?
This video from Disney explains it all:
All you need to do is tell Disney Genie your preferences - are you a thrill-seeker, a Disney princess fan or simply in search of the best place to get a famous turkey leg? The app will then put together the perfect tailor-made itinerary for your day. But it doesn’t stop there! Disney Genie is smart and will be continuously updating your itinerary throughout the day to make sure you take advantage of short attraction wait times and allow you to go with the flow.
Plus, we all have our Disney favourites, don’t we? The brand new personal tip board feature allows you to keep track of your favourite attractions’ current and forecasted wait times so you can always be ahead of the game when it comes to planning your day!
It doesn’t stop there though. Guests can also enjoy more flexibility and fun by joining virtual queues at certain attractions, making dining and experience reservations, mobile food ordering options at many locations and the help of a virtual assistant.
Optional Extras to the Disney Genie
Disney Genie+ Service
For those looking for even more convenience and flexibility, an additional service called Disney Genie+ is also available to purchase. Guests purchasing this experience (at a cost of $15 per ticket per day when purchased at the gate) can choose the next available time to arrive at a selection of attractions and experiences, using the Lighting Lane entrance. You can make one selection at a time and options include classics like the Haunted Mansion and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, all the way up to newer favourites such as Millenium Falcon: Smugglers Run, subject to availability.
Individual attraction selection
Skip the standby lines at up to two of the Resort’s most popular attractions each day using the Lightning Lane entrance. Pricing for this experience will vary by date, attraction and park and will be announced closer to the launch of this service.
Whichever of the 2 options you choose, Lightning Lane selections will be made on the day of your visit and can be used across multiple theme parks, which is great news for Disney Magic Ticket holders as it still gives you the opportunity to park hop!
