As you may know, additional security measures are now being carried out at the boarding gate for flights from the UK to the USA. As part of this, you may be asked to turn on any personal electronic or battery powered device (such as an iPad or Smartphone), in order to demonstrate that it works.
So, to help avoid any delays or disappointment, please make sure that any devices you wish to take within your hand luggage are sufficiently charged - we would recommend that you have at least 15% charge when approaching the boarding gate....as if you are unable to turn your device on or show that it is working, it cannot be carried on board the plane.
Electronic devices that need to have charge (including but not exclusive to):
· Phones
· Cameras
· Tablets
· Laptops
· E readers
· Games consoles
These additional security measures aren't currently causing any major delays. However, we would advise you to be as organised as possible, so nothing gets in-between you and your holiday!
