Imagine a full size whale right next to you? Well you have 25 man-made life size models at the Whales of Iceland Exhibition in the harbour area. The exhibition is full of sounds, visual treats and interactive technology – a must-do when in Reykjavik!

At the spectacular Whales of Iceland Exhibition in Reykjavik you will learn everything you need to know about every whale that has been found in Icelandic waters throughout history.
With 25 lifesize whale models, interactive experiences and underwater footage you are in for a BIG and unique experience.
Walking through this wonder world with soothing whale sounds, ambient underwater lighting and beach-like floors truly makes you feel like you are deep under water exploring these gentle giants of the ocean.
Also available for ticket holders at no extra cost:
- A live guided tour of Whales of Iceland is offered daily at 11.00 and 15.00
- The documentary Whale Wisdom is screened daily at 10.20, 12.30 and 14.40.
- A full screening of the award-winning film Sonic Sea daily at 11:20, 13.30 and 15.40
Once you have experienced all the exhibition has to offer you can finish with a freshly baked pastry & a cup of coffee in their café. If you just love whales and would like to take one home, you can of course get a sneaky souvenir on the way out.
Whales of Iceland is located at Grandi erea, Fiskislóð 23. Which is close to the old harbour and about 15 minutes’ walk from the city centre.

Terms and conditions for Whales of Iceland Exhibition - Entrance Ticket
- The Whales of Iceland exhibition is wheelchair accessible.
- Children 0-6 years are free of charge to enter with a paying adult.
- The museum is open 10am - 5pm daily all year round except December 25th. Please check locally before travelling.
- Live guided tours are available daily at 11am and 3pm direct at the venue and take around 30 minutes.
- There is a free audio guide available to use on your smartphone - just scan the QR code at the front desk (earphones not provided).
- The venue has free parking available on a first-come, first-served basis.
- *CANCELLATION POLICY: Free cancellations for bookings cancelled with the operator up to 72 hours before your chosen activity date. No refunds are given for cancellations made within 72 hours.
